Franklin Pond Student Wins First Prize in Sphinx Competition

Brandon Leonard (cello) won First Prize in the Junior Division of the 2023 Sphinx Competition on January 27!

Brandon has studied through the Atlanta Symphony Talent Development Program for many years. Among his many accolades, he is principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the cellist this year in Franklin Pond’s Magnolia Trio.

In 2021, his trio (then the Sycamore Trio) won silver in the well-known Fischoff Competition, and first prize in the WDAV Competition in Davidson, NC.
