Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition

Join us LIVE on Saturday, May 29 for the 5th Annual Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition, happening this year at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. The event is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required. The gorgeous, spacious, and acoustically beautiful sanctuary can easily host a socially-distanced audience. Masks are highly encouraged but not required.

12:00 – 1:00 • Competition Final Round
Three nationally renowned artists–William Fred Scott, Sergiu Schwartz, and Elizabeth Pridgen Killian—will take their seats in the judging booth as finalist ensembles compete for a $2000 Grand Prize!

4:00 – 5:30 • Awards Concert
Hosted by William Fred Scott, former Music Director of The Atlanta Opera and the award-winning acapella group Chanticleer, the concert will begin with Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major (Allegro ma non troppo) performed by pianist Elizabeth Pridgen Killain, violinist Sergiu Schwartz, and the Franklin Pond Quartet.  Next on the program is the announcement of awards, where competing ensembles find out who will walk away with the cash prizes!  The Franklin Pond Quartet will then return to perform Schubert’s rousing Quartetsatz, and as a grand finale, the Competition Grand Prize Winners will perform their prize-winning piece.
