Eclectic and interesting student groups for the school year

Of the six groups Franklin Pond is coaching this school year, two of them came as pre-formed groups, having been together also last year school year. We love that because the longer the students are together, the better they play together, and the more rewarding it is for them and for the coaches.

Some of the students in these groups also perform in the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. This year we are partnering with the ASO to start a chamber music program connected to the Youth Symphony. We are working with two wonderfully unusual (for us) groups, all students from the ASYO; a harp/violin duo and a piano/horn/violin trio. The other two groups of the six are all students who are new to Franklin Pond (except one wonderful violist!) and we so enjoy working with them to hone their musicianship in their quartet and quintet.
