Hello, Friends!

Franklin Pond is HOT in every sense of the word! We are going strong, transitioning now from our successful Summer Intensive Program to the Fall Into Spring program.

We are also busy with a smooth change of Top Dog (or Top Dogs) at the beginning of 2027! Melissa Klein (“Sophie”) will be taking over as Executive Director. Ginny Fairchild (“Daisy”) will be the Artistic Director. I, Ronda Respess (“Drama”), will be walking the dogs and having a good time in retirement while keeping in touch with many of our alumni and donors.

I am happy to be doing this after 25 years at Franklin Pond, along with 51 years with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (I retired in 2020). It’s time for The Pond to flow into the next 25 years with new blood and new ideas.

It is up to ALL of us to keep Franklin Pond the vital organization it has become. We need to encourage young musicians in any way we can. They are the future of music.
