Labor Day String Festival!

Labor Day String Festival!

On September 2, Franklin Pond held its first annual Labor Day String Festival. During the morning session, students in grades 4-6 were introduced to the basics of playing in a group without a conductor, and learned tips for sight-reading. The afternoon session was for older students in grades 7-12. Students enjoyed masterclasses on audition preparation, as well as reading chamber with their Atlanta Symphony Orchestra coaches. Like every Franklin Pond experience, there was downtime for students to hang out on the porch and enjoy the view of the pond. We had a great turnout for this Festival, and are already looking forward to continuing this new tradition in 2014!
