Franklin Pond Chamber Music offers exceptional year-round, performance-based programs where students grow musically and personally in a supportive yet challenging musical environment. Guided by coaching artists from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Opera Orchestras, students explore chamber music’s most advanced repertoire while developing confidence, creativity, and meaningful friendships along the way.
The Franklin Pond Summer Intensive Program is a four-week, audition-based experience for advanced students in grades 6–12+. Participants attend twice-weekly full-day sessions at The Pond, take part in a five-day retreat at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, and perform in multiple community concerts. Students audition online and are thoughtfully placed into chamber ensembles of three to six players based on ability, age, and compatibility — creating an environment where they can thrive musically and socially.
At Franklin Pond, students strengthen the skills that shape both musicians and leaders:
- Communication — learning to give and receive constructive feedback and share music with audiences
- Confidence — stepping beyond comfort zones and embracing musical challenges
- Expression — connecting emotionally with fellow musicians and listeners
- Leadership — understanding when to collaborate, listen, and guide
- Self-discipline — building responsibility and reliability as an ensemble member
We’re also excited to introduce our new Prep Program for advanced elementary-age students — a wonderful entry point into the Franklin Pond experience. For more information or to learn whether your student may be a good fit, please email fpcm@franklinpond.org.
We would love to welcome your family into the Franklin Pond community.
